     I – An old story
     In 1947, an industrial business in Menswear manufacturing is being set up, under VET FRANCE trading name. This company is indeed the outcome of a small family business, founded in 1910, by Mr Germain Ruscassie, known as a tailor by trade and practice.
     Owing to his sons’ commitment, Germain Ruscassie develops his business, known in 1940 under the “Ets RUSCASSIE” trade name. The company employs then about 150 people in Gramat (Lot county 46).
     The company is then determined to act in favour of many oppressed people, in war-time (1939-45) occupied France. Mr Robert Ruscassie shows a lot of bravoury, under many circumstances; he is eventually awarded the title of the JUST, among the nations in 1994.

     II – Industrial development
     As soon as France is freed, in 1945, Mr Robert Ruscassie decides to grow his business model and opens a new factory in Figeac (Lot county 46) from 1946.
     In the 50’s, VET FRANCE goes under remarkable changes in commercial policy; the company opts to mostly turn the activity into manufacturing contracting. VET FRANCE offers its industrial know-how to the Menswear wholesalers, who supply all the necessary materials in turn.
     The constant growth leads the company to hire a more massive labour. Mr Robert Ruscassie, assisted by his brother André, take the decision to set up their head office in Limoges (Limousin County Haute-Vienne 87) in 1962.
     VET FRANCE gains momentum quickly and becomes a leading structure, in the French industrial Menswear manufacturing , employing over 1000 people in its own factories, producing about 6000 trousers/day and 2000 suits & jackets/day. Looking for a relentlessly improved quality gives VET FRANCE the edge over many technical innovations, as well as investments; this constant move makes the group renowned for its manufacturing excellence.

     Among many examples, VET FRANCE turns out to be the first manufacturing company to put together the technique for making an overall stretch trousers; it also steps ahead of its competitors, by taking hold of the formal wear & bridal mens’ garments market, at a very early stage. It offers to its customers on-going new model designs.
     As long as VET FRANCE’s creativity remains concerned with an indisputable quality, the group must question its manufacturing policy, in the early 90’s, due to unprecedented changes in production relocations and to the extinction of the wholesaling trade.

     III - A new story
     From 1994 onwards, the company VET FRANCE – DISFRA, being run by the new owners Mr Philippe Chabannier & his son Christophe Chabannier, revamps its trade, by opening a new customers network, made mostly of multi-brands menswear retailers, backed by a dedicated DISFRA sales team.
     Alongside, when manufacturing gets outsourced, it remains in a very nearby location ( European & Mediterranean countries). DISFRA also totally manages manufacturing and carefully monitors all the steps from designing models to delivering articles to its customers.
     Our customers place good trust in DISFRA, this enables us to stand as a reliable and a sustainable Menswear partner, in the long run. It also leads DISFRA to be known as a major player in the French City Menswear market.

     IV – DISFRA : a company geared for the future
     Since 2008, Mr Christophe Chabannier and his brother Denis Chabannier (both executive directors & owners), keep managing DISFRA’ s company project, under the very same essential values, brought over through decades of entrepreneurial existence : keep and develop a genuine industrial know-how, in favour of quality demanding customers.
     This quality demand is all the stronger than it faces new challenges, due to the growing complexity of manufacturing organization ( fabrics & materials supplies, rising costs, extended delivery lead-times…). DISFRA is more than ever an available team, caring totally for all of its customers, hoping to provide for solutions, in keeping with an always evolving society.
