This company is the result of a little family firm founded in 1910 by Mr. Germain Ruscassie, a professional tailor.
With his sons, he developped his activity and in 1940, the company was named "Etablissement Ruscassie". It employed about 150 people in Gramat (in the French region Le Lot). Moreover, the firm showed bravery by defending the oppressed people during the dark times of World War II. In this way, Mr. Ruscassie was recognized Righteous Among The Nations in 1994.
From 1945, Mr. Ruscassie engaged an acceleration of his industrial model by opening a new factory in Figeac in 1946. It was in 1947, under the name of Vet France, that the creation of a men ready-to-wear industrial activity became true. In the 50's, a significant change occured in Vet France's commercial strategy ; it became mainly manufacturer. The company proposed its industrial know-how to the wholesalers who provided raw material.
The activity's constant development lead to the transfer to a more significant industrial area : Vet France set up in Limoges, and rapidly employed more than 1000 people. It produced about 6000 trousers and 2000 jackets a day.
Establishment of a structure whose goal was to provide the products to the clients and to be in their service ; this structure wanted to bring new solutions for the provision of raw material. It was the creation of Disfra.
Rise of the research and development work with the adjustment of innovative concepts for the production, espacially the command of the stretchy trousers' manufacturing.
After the disruptions due to the globalization, the company, at the initiative of its new directors Mrs Philippe Chabannier and his son Christophe, completely reorganised its distribution network by establishing a commercial strength which paid close attention to a costumer base mainly composed of multi-brands' retailers.
Concerned about maintaining the quality and seriousness values which had always been at the heart of the company, the production got structured in the close European and Mediterranean area exclusively. This assured an efficient reactivity and reliability.
Still aware of the nessecity to take into account the development of the new technological tools, Disfra proposed to its clients an original web service thanks to which they could visualise and order the products 24/7.
Becoming the CEO's of the company, Christophe and his brother Denis kept on leading a project based on the essential values which have always accompanied the group's life since its creation. Their main objective was to maintain a real industrial know-how in the service of quality demanding clients.
